The unspeakably brilliant Caroline Mabey and her cartoon coffee pot sidekick, Kip, are back in Edinburgh for the third time to take the ultimate challenge in this mind bending, world record–breaking attempt to be quiet.  You simply won’t believe your ears.  This year’s David Blaine.

“Charmingly bonkers” (Chortle) Caroline Mabey is a talented stand-up comedian, compere, character comic and writer. She is also an accomplished graphic artist and animator and has created various animated characters with whom she interacts in her madcap Edinburgh shows.   Caroline’s daft and playful persona is underpinned by her deceptively clever and dark gags.  Recently she cemented her animation credentials by being invited to host the prestigious British Animation Awards.  Her recent TV credits include The One Show (BBC1), The Culture Show, (BBC2) and Funny Business (BBC2).

After a triumphant run at the Brighton Fringe earlier in the year – The Sunday Times critics’ choice of the weekend – “superlative” sketch group The Dog-Eared Collective bring their brand new show, You’re Better Than This to the Edinburgh Fringe.  This is the sketch group of the fringe this year.

Directed by Alan Freestone, (Greedy (Edinburgh, London, New York), Lucy Porter and Des Clarke) You’re Better Than This is a riotous sketch fest showcasing the groups’ quirky style of combining ingenious prop comedy with British eccentricity.  Joyously unpredictable and in places a touch surreal, audiences are invited to fly on the cape tails of a Diddy-Man Vigilante, cue up for Snooker: The Musical and sniff out a Samurai’s secret.

Overwhelmed by life?  Constantly distracted?  Can’t finish a….oooh what’s that?  In this fast–moving world of distractions and diversions, how can we stay focused on what’s important?  Were things simpler in the past or were people just stupider? Does studying Home Economics for a term at the age of 13 give Matt enough knowledge to understand the global financial crisis? And if not, should that stop him from commenting on it anyway? Why are we obsessed with gossip? And have you seen what she’s wearing?
