Star of smash hit TV show, Flight of the Conchords , New Zealand comedy sensation Rhys Darby (Murray) returns to London with a stand up show for only five dates at The Bloomsbury Theatre and one at The Shepherds Bush Empire . This is sure to be one of the hottest tickets in the capital this summer. Rhys will follow up this London run, with a return to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival from the 6 th – 15 th August at the Udderbelly.
Rhys' stand-up has been described as a sensational blend of sound effects, characterisations and askew observations. His quirky, unique style of physical storytelling, whimsical tales peppered with sound effects has wowed audiences from Iceland to Australia, Bahrain to the Falkland Islands including every major international comedy festival on the planet. He truly is one of a kind.
An ex-soldier in the New Zealand Army and a veteran of ten years as a stand-up comedian, Darby made his feature film debut alongside Jim Carrey in Yes Man. He then went on to feature as one of the DJ's in Richard Curtis' current film, The Boat that Rocked .
The release of his stand-up DVD, Rhys Darby: Imagine That! filmed live in LA last year is one of his proudest achievements and has gone platinum in his homeland.
After living in the U.K. and the U.S. for seven years, Darby now spends his time off at home in New Zealand with his wife and three-year-old son.
