James Dowdeswell (Count Fuckula, the cult cameo in Extras, BBC) is back in Edinburgh with a new show and a new attitude.
James is haunted by one word; ‘nice’. Everyone thinks he’s nice. But after recently being mugged by school children at a swimming pool, James decided it was time to act. What happens when a sweet, gentle guy tries to embrace his dark side?
No More Mr Nice Guyis the story of a man doing battle with his angels.James explores the positives and pitfalls of always being regarded as nice. The old James would rather not cause a fuss, always looked on the bright side, and felt trapped by politeness. But nice guys don’t finish last, they don’t even run the race. The new James unbuttons his cardigan, asserts himself and tackles society's bullies; it’s time for this stand-up to stand up for himself.
2008 is proving to be a great year for James. As well as bringing us his fourth Edinburgh solo show, he has just returned from a sellout tour of Australia as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow and has recently toured the UK as a special guest for Russell Howard. His comedy has travelled as far as Shanghai, Dubai, Doha, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Phuket and Singapore.
