Australia’s most popular and prolific music comedy acts, TRIPOD, make a very welcome return to the fringe this year after an almost ten year absence. This hugely talented trio, made up of Scod, Yon and Gatesey perform at the Bosco tent and will prove to be a show not to be missed.

Tripod are a band who sing funny songs beautifully. They also fight a lot... after ten years of performing you’d think they would have worked out their onstage power struggle issues but it just keeps happening. Its classic vaudeville dressed up as geek-folk, quirky pop in gorgeous rich harmony with stings in the tails. Or, in the first chorus as the case may be.

At a music festival recently some guy with a beard described them as Crosby Stills and Nash with great jokes, which obviously appealed to the boys on a bunch of levels. If you like comedy, come. If you like music, come. If you don’t like either music or comedy, you’ve got problems. Maybe you should come and see if we can cheer you up.

Tripod are enormously busy at home. They have a hugely successful live touring agenda to fit in around regular sell out seasons at the Melbourne Comedy, Adelaide Fringe and New Zealand Comedy Festivals. The release of award winning albums, appearing regularly on television (The Sideshow, ABC and Skithouse, Paramount) and taking part in Music Festivals across the country has kept them well and truly occupied for a while. Someone also said something about life getting in the way at some stage.
