PRESS RELEASE
JOHN BISHOP
THE GOING TO WORK TOUR 2007
March- April 2007
Award winning Liverpool comic, John Bishop, is set to embark on his first tour this spring. Entitled The Going to Work Tour, it begins on the 4th March in Runcorn and continues through until 26th April where it closes at Leeds City Varieties.
John Bishop first walked on stage in November 2000 and had won his first award within a year. Since bursting onto the comedy scene he has become a multi award winning comedian, an award winning broadcaster with his Sunday afternoon Radio City show, The Bishops Sunday Service and a critically acclaimed play-write with his first Radio 4 play Happy Families. It would amaze most people to think that this has all been achieved by someone who had a day job!
John has now left his job and this will be his first tour as a full time comedian and those people who know how good he was when it was his hobby can only imagine how good he will be now he needs to be funny to feed his kids!!!
John has featured in numerous TV shows including the Comedy Store Series 4 and 6 (Paramount) Brain Candy (BBC 3) Blame Game (BBC Ulster) Liffy Laffs (RTE Ireland) Soccer Night (Granada).
John used to be a semi professional footballer and is also a regular contributor to national radio station TalkSport and also has his own regular blog on the Liverpool Football Club’s website. A few years ago he cycled around the world for charity.
